Hydration is crucial to your morning routine, replenishing the fluids naturally lost while you were asleep. Not only will a glass of water kickstart your day with a boost of energy, but you’ll improve your focus and mental clarity as well. Skipping that morning H2O will affect your mental and physical well-being as dehydration would: a drop in cognitive function and mood, while increasing irritability and feelings of anxiousness.
Movement is another ‘must have’ in your morning arsenal – doesn’t have to be a full workout that pushes you to your limits, but 30 to 45 minutes jogging, walking, yoga, or even just light stretching can offer health benefits for your mind and body! A walk around the block – especially when the sun is out for that extra boost – works to improve cognitive function while reducing depression, irritability and anxiety.
