TMS for ADHD

Meta-analyses and clinical reviews consistently report that TMS is well-tolerated in individuals living with ADHD, with minimal side effects—most commonly mild scalp discomfort or headache during sessions.*1

A 2024 retrospective study in children with ADHD found that rTMS alone led to an effective response rate of 81.25%, and when combined with medication (tiapride), the response rate increased to 93.55%. Both attention and hyperactivity symptoms, as well as social and behavioral functioning, improved significantly after three months of TMS treatment. *2

While TMS is not yet FDA-approved specifically for ADHD, ongoing research continues to support its safety and efficacy, particularly for patients who have not found sufficient relief with medication or behavioral therapy. *3
