Healthier Brains with Pets

Did you know? Interacting with pets can reduce stress hormones like cortisol while increasing calming chemicals such as oxytocin. There are a number of studies that link pets with lower feelings of loneliness and emotional distress.

In addition, several studies have found that older adults with pets (cats and dogs mostly) showed slower decline in memory and verbal skills over time. The pet creates social engagement and routine benefits: your pet creates structure (feeding, walking, grooming, etc), encourages movement and increases social interactions!

With that - having a pet can lead to healthier brain aging!
